Anita Briem is an Icelandic actress . Anita Briem is an Icelandic actress. Her best-known work is portraying Jane Seymour, the young woman who will become the 3rd queen of Henry VIII on the television show The Tudors. Briem was first introduced to acting when she was 9 years old in the National Theater in Iceland. In her homeland of Iceland she was involved in various plays, radio programs and television programs as an actress in her early years. Briem relocated from Iceland to London when she was 16 and was a part of a theater production called Lenin's Love. Briem, then 19, was accepted to at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She studied there during three academic years. Briem earned her degree in Drama and won the John Barton Prize under the Scenic Fight category. He participated in many plays during his time at RADA including The Cherry Garden directed by Anton Chekhov or Bernarda Alba's House written by Federico Garcia Lorca.
